About Bullion Price Tracker
Bullion Price Tracker charts the premium over spot you pay to buy gold and silver investment coins, and what you get, against spot, when you sell them back. The spot price alone shows neither.
What this site is
Market sites chart spot. Dealer sites show today's price for one coin. Neither shows how the buy premium and the sell discount move over time. This site charts both, in US dollars, for four coins: American Gold Eagle, American Silver Eagle, Canadian Gold Maple Leaf and Canadian Silver Maple Leaf.
This is an independent proof of concept. It is not operated by or affiliated with any dealer, mint or financial institution.
Who runs it

For dealers
Buyers come here to check what gold and silver coins cost over spot before they buy. If you are a bullion dealer, this site can show your real buy and buyback prices for these coins under your name, with links to your product pages, so those buyers can reach you directly.
The dealer prices on the site today are simulated (see Methodology). To have your real prices shown, email office@bullionpricetracker.com.
Methodology
Spot prices are real. They are fetched every two hours from apised Gold API. The first 30 days of history use recorded daily closes from Seeking Alpha Historical Prices, because the live provider's free tier gives only the current price.
The buy and sell (buyback) prices on this site are simulated. They are not read from a dealer and are not real offers. This site does not scrape or automatically collect prices from any dealer's website.
How the model works
A few real prices per coin were recorded by hand from moneymetals.com product pages, live or as archived snapshots, together with the spot price that day (listed below). From those, each coin gets a starting premium, a range and a small daily step. A seeded, repeatable model then moves the premium day by day and adds one simulated spike, like the ones a supply shortage causes. The buyback price is derived from the buy premium, and the buy price always stays above the buyback price. Every price shown is a real spot price plus this simulated premium. The site never invents a spot price.
The recorded prices seed the model but do not limit it. The simulation starts inside each coin's recorded range and then wanders, so simulated premiums can drift outside the range that was observed. The American Silver Eagle shows this most. Its three recorded prices were taken with silver at about $28, $38 and $65, so its range is unusually wide. Its simulated buyback price stays above spot throughout, more often and by more than in the recorded prices.
Premiums are calculated from listed prices and ignore state sales tax. US investment-grade bullion coins are usually exempt from it, but this varies by state.
Affiliate disclosure
This site has applied to the affiliate programs of four bullion dealers: JM Bullion, SD Bullion, BGASC and Kitco. All four run through AWIN. If the site is approved by one of these dealers, the Buy now button on each coin page will become an affiliate link to that dealer, and the site may earn a commission if you buy through it, at no extra cost to you. Sell now will then link to the same dealer's buyback page. Sell now never carries affiliate tracking. Until then, Buy now and Sell now are disabled. The dealer prices shown are simulated (see Methodology), and an affiliate relationship would not change them.
Not financial advice. This site presents pricing information for research only and does not recommend buying or selling any asset. Precious metal prices are volatile, and past premiums do not predict future ones.
